The KaWaTec AUG MARKSMAN TRIGGER (KA-AUG-1) reduces the trigger resistance by around 60 percent without affecting the drop safety. The drop safety is not negatively affected as the replacement parts are only insignificantly heavier.
With the separately available KaWaTec AUG MARKSMAN SAFETY (KA-AUG-2), which is a 3-position safety, you get an optional two-stage trigger. The middle position is the two-stage position, here only single fire is possible when used in a fully automatic weapon.
The reduction in trigger resistance is achieved with a lever transmission, which increases the trigger travel. A trigger is pivoted in the trigger housing, which presses a pressure pin against the front stop surface in the stock when actuated, thereby pushing the trigger housing together with the trigger bar in the direction of the trigger pack.
Since March 2022, KaWaTec GmbH has only been installing the trigger bar with both arms (no arm is removed), which minimizes wear on the trigger pack and significantly improves the trigger characteristics.
For the best trigger characteristics, KaWaTec GmbH recommends the use of the STEYR ARMS AUG Enhanced Trigger Spring Kit (1251030600), which does not affect the drop safety. With fully automatic weapons, the trigger characteristics do not change when using the STEYR ARMS AUG Enhanced Trigger Spring Kit (1251030600), as the springs are almost identical.
Serial fire is still possible when used in a fully automatic firearm.
Suitable for use by the authorities (“Military & Law Enforcement”).
Not suitable for self-installation in the NATO stock, as this has a different trigger bar. In the USA, however, only generation 2 is supplied (without a trigger bar), which is compatible with all standard and NATO versions. The Gen 2 uses the original trigger bar without modification. Information on this can be found in the operator´s manual.
